Dear Forum,

I am looking for some software suggestions for remote access to an IMac. The crucial part is that I want to be able (if possible) to control the machine already when the login screen (choosing user) appears. The reason for this is that I want to be able to control it for instance after a restart due to a power outage.

Thank you very much in advance!

LogMeIn. It's pricey, but hands down the best service out there, in my opinion. Very intuitive interface to remotely control your Mac from iOS or through the web on another computer. You can access the login screen as you requested, and they also offer the ability to browse your files without VNCing.

Another option is Team Viewer. They offer a free option, but it's not as intuitive/easy in my opinion.

Thank you for the replies. Any hints on what security settings I should be aware of for TeamViewer?

I'm not sure it'll give access to the login screen after a power failure, but I'm a big fan of Jump Desktop. They support VNC, but also (I think) their own proprietary connection called Fluid that works really well even on slower connections.
