Hey all..

Im looking for a program for the mac that can edit a midi file that I find on the internet and take out the vocal line melody, drums, guitar and bass etc to just have the keyboard parts from the song lets say. Then I want to reassign the sound as most of the midi files have cheesey sounds.

I have garageband will most of the jampacks loaded so I have tons of sounds. Not sure if you can edit midi with it or use the sounds loaded in.

Anyone know how I would go about doing this? and what program is good to use?

The end result would be an mp3 file which one channel would be a click track for a drummer and the other channel would be the sequence so that a band can use it as a backing track to jam over kinda thing.

any ideas?

thanks
