I will soon be transferring files from PC to Mac, so was contemplating what the fastest method was for file transfer.

My PC is connected to router (wrt54g linksys) by ethernet cable - 10/100
iMac has gigabit ethernet

Is it better to connect iMac via ethernet cable to the router or just use wi-fi connection (802.11g) to transfer.

It's not a great amount - maybe MAX 10GB? seeing as I have almost all of my itunes library backed up over stages on about 10 DVD's..

Thanks

I use 100 ethernet to transfer file between machines on a regular basis. I get approx 42Gb per hour transfer rate.
