Hi, I see around for a new storage option for the MacPro late 2013.
Now I have cMP 2010 12 core 3,33 and in the next days I change it with a MacPro late 2013.
In my cMP I have a PCIe blade Samsung 970 PRO NVMe for system and app and a storage with an RAID 0 set with 3 SSD Samsung 860 EVO in the originals bays linked via MaxUgrades kit at an Areca 1880i RAID card. The last bay is for a single disk for backup the boot disk.
Now, on new MacPro I have only one blade for system and I need an external storage that, if possible, increase the performance of my actual setup. Now I can see with AJA 1,6 read and 1,8 write GB/s with 4 GB file.
I have see the for example the
OWC Express 4 m2 4-slot M.2 Nvme SSD Enclosure
for make a RAID 0 set with 3 Samsung 970 PRO, linked at the MacPro with Thunderbolt 2 port.
Another option is a Thunderbolt/PCIe enclosure, the High Point 7101-A card and 3 Samsung 970 PRO in RAID 0 always linked via Thunderbolt.
Which of these option have the best performance and can saturated the Thunderbolt 2 bus on MacPro 6.1 or at least increase the actual performance? There is others solution that I have not considered?
Sorry for my English is not my primary language...and thanks for your answers.
Rik
