I have a 2019 27 inch iMac on order and I ordered it with 8GB of Ram. I want to buy two 32GB sticks and have them ready to install when I get the new computer home. I'd prefer to buy Crucial brand memory but I'm having trouble figuring out which Ram to buy on the Crucial web site. I see 32GB sticks there but one is RDIMM and the other is LRDIMM and I can't figure out which one I should buy.
I'm no expert but it looks to me like Crucial could make their products a lot easier to buy. OWC makes this a whole lot easier and I'll be buying from them if I can't figure this out soon.

Update: I just had a chat with Randy R at Crucial and he couldn't answer my question because according to Apple the iMac maxes out at 64GB of Ram so the only sticks they can recommend are 16GB.
Looks like I'll be buying OWC Ram.

I've used Crucial, OWC, and Data Memory Systems brands in the past - have never had a problem with any of them. Will probably go with OWC for our new 2019 iMac just because they make good products and of their support for the Mac community and great customer service.

According to OWC, your iMac can take up to 128 GB. The Crucial website doesn't seem to be updated for the 2019 iMac.
You can go with OWC and you should be fine.

Thank you cb3 - I ordered from OWC today.

See this thread. The Crucial at Amazon mentioned there several times works just fine in the 2019 iMac. Yes, it supports 128GB if you actually need that much.
I just tried installing that Crucial and in any configuration, the computer won’t boot up. I tried them all....

Best to buy direct from Crucial and use the RAM they recommend for your computer.
I did purchase the exact model they claimed was compatible with my computer....though I ordered from Amazon....still the correct model.

Ordering from Amazon can sometimes be a "crap shoot", depending on where and who the item actually came from. I have always ordered direct from Crucial, over many years of upgrading RAM, and it has always worked.

Are you sure the RAM modules are all seated properly?

Also, are you waiting for at least 60 seconds on the first startup with the new RAM installed? It can take that long to initialize the new configuration during which time you will only see a black screen.
