I'd have to agree with logmein. Their service works through most firewalls and proxies without fail. Its a reliable service and the iPad client is stellar.

Slashtop and iTeleport

Are both really useful. They couldnt be easier to set up, and there is no need to configure either one to work on either Mac or Windows (as I have both systems at home: OSX 10.6.8 and Windows 7) and I had them both installed and running in less than 5 mins, tops. Splashtop has the great feature of porting sound and a custom iPad-optimized screen view to the iPad, but the only drawback is that the internet discovery feature is still not available for Mac--just Win 7. iTeleport is a great remote desktop all-around, with some great professional/enterprise features, but isn't quite as snappy as Splashtop, but it does work perfectly with both Mac and Windows. Hope this helps!

Big fan of Logmein. It's pricey for iPad client, but works great. And unlike you heard in this thread, there's NO extra payment required for it. Ever. Yes, you can upgrade to Logmein Pro 2, which is $70 a year, but the features it offers are pointless on iPad. Free version gives you file transfer, and I believe, printing.

Another reason I love Logmein is that it supports 2 factor authentication, and does not need ANY firewall/router configuration. My Logmein account has about 700 hosts. If I had to setup a router for each one of them and then deal with Dynamic DNS (service that does cost money), and re-setup routers once customer replaces his Linksys with Netgear or something, I flip.

Are any of these good with video? I have Jump Desktop and absolutely love it, but it doesn't stream video very well, even on wifi. There are some flash video sites I would like to stream from my desktop for patient education but thru Jump they are not watchable.

Splashtop sounded great until I found out there's no encryption going on with the connection from your iPad. I'm amazed so few people express their worry about this.

Splashtop, easily.

Team viewer for me. Splash top was hopeless... Couldn't get it work through firewall... I never had problem in connecting from a single pc or tablet or phone..

Splashtop updated today, you no longer need an Internet connection if you are within X feet of your PC.

Using Splashtop 2 now that it can be used in a closed network without any extra cost on top of the app cost.

Works great and pretty smooth! I don't need access to my computer outside my own network so no problems!

Hi guys, do you know any app to have tablet access? I need to access to my iPad from other iPad or from my Mac.
