i don't know if it's what Apple's using, but a good motion capture program is Snapz Pro X.

I was doing a Powerpoint and desperately needed to get an animation off our company website, so I bit on the $79 for Snapz Pro X. Holy Schnickies...I was impressed with Grab for still image capture, but Snapz ProX is a very cool program. Ambrosia has had great software for the Mac for well over a decade.

Hehe, I went looking for the link immediately as am in the market for such a program (been trialling Snapz Pro). iShowU looks like it's better for a quarter of the price.

Is it definitely what Apple uses?

Remember, all doesn't lie in the program. If you use a high framerate the screen cap will look smooooth and nice.

I agree with others. IShowU is really good. It has a lot of configuration options.
