Windex, IPA, eyeglass cleaner. But it will eventually remove the hydrophobic coating on the screen.

Apple just updated their guidelines stating it’s okay to use disinfectant wipes on the iPhone screen.

Even before Apple made that statement, I was doing that for quite some time. The only thing you could possibly affect is the Oleophobic coating. On top of that, I would take a dry microfiber cloth and wipe off any excess. I just made sure the sanitizer cloth wasn’t too saturated.

Indeed. Plus most of us have screen protectors anyways, so we can “replace” the oleophobic coating anytime.

I haven’t noticed degradation in the coating though after using these wipes multiple times now.

I've found spritzing a micro fiber towel with water, then a quick wipe down works for me. Also I take my phone out of the case regularly and clean it the same way.

Because of the coronavirus outbreaks, I made my own disinfectant / cleaner:

Distilled water + a little bit of rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle. I spray it on a microfiber cloth and clean the entire phone and my case too. Comes out squeaky clean and germ free!

I have always used a small spray bottle with 5oz of water and a teaspoon of isopropyl alcohol. I spray it on a eye glass cleaning rag that is 100 percent cotton. As for my case I used hot soapy water and an old toothbrush every now and then. And let it dry.

Antibacterial dishwashing soap with water
Cleans, disinfects, doesn’t remove oleophobic coating. Use a microfiber cloth
Also good on Apple leather cases however Leatjer case will detiorate faster

Whoosh is pretty good, but Hoodman lens wipes is better. It takes more buffing to get Whoosh to cut through oils and grime. The Hoodman wipes cut through it easier and doesn't streak as much.

Would damaging the Oleophobic coating affect the display at all? Or would it just result in that "staingate" thing?

I saw where we can use disinfectant wipes now so I used it after my roommates got COVID and I'm worried that my screen might be more pale now. Is that even a possible result? I only used it 2 times and wiped excess with microfiber cloth. I might be paranoid but it seems like colors on my iPad are brighter than on my MacBook. But there are no stains or scratches anywhere on my MacBook. The screen literally looks brand new.

Seems like you know what your talking about so just wanted to get your opinion lol

I actually just realized that when I turned off the 'True Tone' setting, the colors got brighter
