I'm a graphic designer and educator who uses Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign a lot and am currently using a 2016 MacBook Pro with 16gb of RAM and a Intel Iris Graphics 550 1536 MB card and adobe has NEVER run more slowly for me. Constant freezing, rendering issues and spinning-rainbows all over the place have me investigating alternative mac setups.

I'm torn on whether to dive in to a new M1 Mac mini, which I've heard runs super fast (but that not all adobe apps are compatible with) vs getting a more reliable, workhorse machine of some sort like a more powerful imac or mac pro. I'd love some advice on what type of setup would run these apps quickly and reliably! Desktop or laptop.

Thanks in advance for your advice!
