Best simple notes application that also has a desktop component?

    I like Catch, but looking, it doesn't seem like they have a desktop app, which is really upsetting.

    I don't like Evernote for these sort of things, as it tends to get too cluttered and ugly with my generally short notes.

    Any advice?

    What's wrong with using TextEdit? It works fine for me.

    My bad I didn't explain. I mean a desktop app that also has an iOS app.

    I just use TextEdit, then sync via Dropbox to the iPhone, where I use Nocs.

    nvALT in Combination with Elements or PlainText for iPhone is what I use for my notes database.for my notes database.
