Best simple notes application that also has a desktop component?

I like Catch, but looking, it doesn't seem like they have a desktop app, which is really upsetting.

I don't like Evernote for these sort of things, as it tends to get too cluttered and ugly with my generally short notes.

Any advice?

I just use TextEdit, then sync via Dropbox to the iPhone, where I use Nocs.
