I’m finding out now with watch os7 that the sleep mode apple
Has only really keeps track of how long you are in bed

are there any apps for the watch that tell you more about your sleeping?

I used to use Pillow and I think the interface and also the widget they just added look great but I had to stop using sleep tracking apps because it may sound stupid but it made my sleep worse cuz I feel like I was under pressure getting the perfect sleep in the back of my mind.

I’m back using AutoSleep again, which I’ve been using for over 2 years. I tried the free version of Pillow for a few months and I like it but if I forget to check how much sleep I got for the day I can’t view it the next day.

I used the apple app last night for sleep to try it out and it switched my watch face to a digital clock which was cool but it was a light color and without glasses I had hard time reading it. I use the digital face but mind is red and I can see it fine. Anybody figured out how to change apples light color to the red?

Really love Apple sleep function, in that it shut down my screen without having to turn on Theater mode myself again. 👍

That said I also have AutoSleep so I got cover both ways.

I got the auto sleep. For some reason the app on the phone says error saying health data data not being captured... maybe cause I have never used it before..
Anyone have tips? Does it automatically detect me sleeping? And how.

So auto sleep keeps saying heart rate is not being capture or auto sleep doesn’t have read permissions.
Read permissions are on

idk why heart rate wouldn’t be working tho...

Anyone have tips

You need to turn off auto sleep permissions in health settings, turn off and restart phone, then turn on auto sleep permissions. This was a per auto sleep’s instructions and worked for me.

I tried this and still it says error. I don't get it. is it suppose to say error until I use it for one night?

Could someone post their screenshots from AutoSleep

I've had good results with SleepWatch.
Another vote for sleep watch if you want more detailed tracking. Personally I have now deleted it as a much prefer the simplified tracking and wind down functionality of os7. I sleep very well so I don’t really need an in-depth analysis, I just want my sleep time tracked.

but yes, if you want more detailed analysis I recommend Sleepwatch. I believe you can Use a third party app alongside the os7 functionality if you want to.

Does auto sleep show error until you get a night of sleep. Is that why it has no heart rate data. I’m stumped by this error.

I’ve been using sleep cycle since college over 10 yrs ago, I love how it wakes me up at the lightest stage of sleep and I also get a good idea of how well I slept

I bought auto sleep as people thought it’s the best. I’ve been using sleepwatch which I feel is 10 times better. Last night I laid down at 9pm. Still awake at10. Drifted off to wake at 11:38. Got up and down 3 times between that and 2:30am. Took Benadryl and finally fell asleep. Woke to heat coming on at 5:20am. Dozed to 6 and dozed again till 6:30. i wore the watch all night and according to auto sleep I slept all night. Sleep watch showed every time I was awake or near awake and you could see my heart rate difference between sleep and awake. Either I’m missing something or wasted $4

Jeez Reading this makes me appreciate that Im asleep within 5 minutes of laying down in bed and always sleep right through the night.

Normally I do but have sinus infection and the prednisone all of a sudden past 2 years keeps me awake. I’m not even tired the next day.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted an app that would list the times that I awake in the middle of the night. I completely forgot that SleepWatch does that.

I see Sleep Watch does not have “Sign in with Apple,” which I find strange. I would give it a shot but, I am not looking to create another username and password I have to keep up with, not to mention giving out another personal email address.

You may not know that you can calibrate Autosleep. Its default level is way to generous. I use the second from the strictest setting to get a more accurate record of my sleep. No app can use a watch and truly detect sleep or deep stages sleep as this requires an EEG. They all are guesstimates.
