Best software to choose from?

I just bought an Axiom 61. What do you guys think the best software would be to use that is not to difficult for someone starting out with midi/synths. I own both a Mac and PC powerful enough for any piece of software.

There is:

Protools
Live
Reason
Acid
Native Instruments
Some other ones.....

All music software has it's pros and cons. Garageband could be a good starting point. If you outgrow Garageband, then Reason, Logic, or Live (& digital performer) are all worth checking out.

Once you've got your feet on the ground I recommend ardour, it's free and has loads of features, easily beating garage band or whatever but is very much more complex.
