Best sound output

how would I get the best sound output for my iBook G4, I looked into the iMic and some stuff from creative labs, I just want high quality sound so I can hook my iBook up to a sterio reciever and play music,

I would avoid griffin/creative and other consumer level crap. You get what you pay for.
