I dont trust the Google searches, so i want to hear it from you guys.
Which one is the best and cheapest virus scan, and where is the safest download source?

Generally when people ask about virus scanning they don't just mean viruses. Antivirus has become a generic term for all malware such as trojans.
Exactly!
I was mostly interested in spyware cleaners :)

I use Avast AV and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
Thanks, both of them equally good?

Unless you frequent naughty sites or the Dark Web, you don't need an AV
Don't convolute and confuse with oversimplification. It's not helpful.

Reputable sites' ad pools can also be compromised. It's even happened with MacRumors. My wife was browsing Pinterest the other day and clicked on a link to a garden bed project. There was a redirect and she was informed that our family iMac had multiple viruses and security threats and she was shown a perfectly legitimate looking page to click on or call to get our Mac back on track.

She wasn't frequenting naughty sites or the dark web.

Is that the one that looks like an Apple support site, but has the monotone voice that informs you that your computer is infected and to call the provided number immediately? It gets past MWB and uBlock Origin as well.

Yeah, something like that. Volume muted, but was running uBlock Origin, funny enough.
