I still don't know which is the best stand solution for the M4 Mini?

So far I'm using this one, although I'm afraid it might block part of the air-intake?

Another option would be the vertical stand but might that not create a hotspot at the top section?

The machine can operate fine both horizontally and vertically (assuming you don't block the air intakes and exhausts). The purpose of a stand is simply aesthetic. So the "best" stand solution for you is entire up to you.

I have the first one... (one for a mini M4 and the other for a mini M4 pro) purchased to keep out dust and improve airflow. The TM SSD drive fits underneath. I'm happy with it... not essential, but useful.

All you need is a small piece of micro-fiber cloth, and it's ready to go.

Mine's been sitting like this for almost a year now. Doesn't fall over and easily picked up if the need arises...

There's zero need for a stand or wondering if vertical or horizontal placement is best. Find an acceptable place/space on your desktop, sit it there flat as designed, and forget it.
I too am failing to see the need for a stand for a Mac mini. Just put it on your desk. It’s not like it takes up a lot of space.

Considering the ridiculous placement of the power button, I would go with the stand that places it on it's side.

Whatever makes you happy, after reading reviews positive and negative.

For me, with a Studio and some of the pics of accumulated dust underneath I got a Spigen stand designed to filter. But that is a wholly different scenario than your mini.

Ive-style power button placement for one but also: the Mini is so light that it just slides around on the desk, tugged by cables. Would be nice to anchor it in place.

Look at the pic in reply 5 above.
That's what the piece of microfiber cloth is for -- keeps the Mini from sliding and getting marred.
