So for me local channels are a must. And unfortunately where I live, not all are available. But SiliconDust has a solution: they have a skinny bundle like the other companies. But with their hardware, I can fill in the missing locals with an antenna. And biggest bonus: Channels App works seamlessly with it.

I just saw this. Looks neat, but $35/mo is a bit steep for a bunch of ad-supported channels, in my opinion.

Give this site a try: https://www.suppose.tv/tv.

You set your zip code, select the channels that are important to you, and the site will suggest the best monetary deals for you.

Thanks for passing this along. This is a pretty good tool to use.

Ironically enough, since my last post, I'm in the process of transitioning from Vue to DTV Now. Vue is missing some channels that my wife would like. Plus, HBO for $5 is better than the $15 I'm currently paying for HBO NOW.

Channels you need is usually a big factor..

From a quality and reliability standpoint, I find YouTubeTV to be really hard to beat.

Google is very good at this sort of thing.
How is the audio quality from YouTube. I'm close to dropping my FiOS TV subscription and just getting GB internet and buying HBO and Showtime, then purchasing TV show from iTunes or vudu. Still not sure what to do about live TV yetyet but quality is a must.

Wish I could be more help on this one...Quality has been fine for my purposes, but we all have different needs/desires of course.

This thread might be a good start to get a better answer:

I did a 7 day trial of Youtube TV a few months back and the audio was really bad IMHO. I am currently using Direct TV Now and sound quality is no where near as good as cable but its way better than YTTV, also they recently upgraded FOX channels to 5.1 so there is at least hope that more channels will be 5.1 stream in the future on DTNow.

But as always your results may vary and YTTV may have upgraded their sound stream since my trial. I did greatly prefer YTTV interface but I found the audio on many streams to be jarring and I could not live with it.

Currently I have dropped cable completely and rely only on internet / iTunes. Have decided to just buy my shows from iTunes which is the best bang for the buck. Video and audio quality is superb. The only issue is if my broadcast tv show preferences change, cost could increase.

Thank you all for your feedback.

I've been using YouTubeTV for 7 months now with my Apple TV box. Quite happy with it overall for $40. Only major complaint is with the ATV app and remote. Trying to scroll forward or back on a DVR recording with the Apple remote is next to impossible. It jumps all over the place and difficult to move in small increments.

How about the 10 second skip, or use a universal remote

10sec skip buttons are on iPhone remote.
I also get same effect on TV remote with prev/next chapter.
Finally, siri remote is sensitive to speed of swipe, as described here: http://time.com/4103071/apple-tv-tips-tricks/

I think most people will have different experiences. I haven't tried Sling in a few years. I've had PSvue on two occasions and there were some playback problems for me, Hulu is what I have now and it's decent, but my favorite has been DirecTV Now.

Small increments in YTTV can be done on the Apple remote by clicking on the right and left side of the track pad. The more you click, the more 10 second increments you get. :)
