Best stylus iPad app for note taking?

I would try both the free trials and see what works for you. I really don't need a bunch of color or pen options. I need to have the same flexibility as a ball point pen and a sheet of paper. So GoodNotes works well for me.

See which trial works best for you. I don't think you would go wrong with either

I find it interesting that my Adonit pixel point works slightly different in each program. I think it is important to try a couple of programs with your choice of stylus before you purchase the app. Also, each app has slightly different settings which might make you favor one app over another.
 
omg the search goes on, I just bought a Pencil by 53 and am now not sure what to buy - Goodnotes (doesn't have API support for pencil), Noteshelf, or Zoomnotes!

To me personally, generally speaking (I've commented in more detail in this very topic):
Note taking, high productivity, versatile (pdf) import/export = GoodNotes
Notes, sketches, extremely realistic writing/drawing experience = Noteshelf

Ok. I am still loving my iPad Air with the Adonit pixel point. But I am thinking about buying an Air 2. Does anyone know how the pixel point works with GoodNotes on the Air 2??

Haha!! My mistake.

I went ahead and bought an iPad Air 2. I wanted one with cellular which my original Air did not have.

The Adonit jot touch with pixel point works flawlessly so far with the latest version of GoodNotes.

If you need to record audio then Zoomnotes, if you use a lot of different pens and sketch Noteshelf. I like both but I think Noteshelf has the edge on the user interface.

Hi,

The app is the Adonit Forge app. I have not really used it, so I cannot comment. On GoodNotes 4 and Noteshelf with the latest updates, I had none of these problems.

I will say the video shows the issues I had which I discussed earlier this thread. I thought my stylus had died, when in reality the tip was loose. Since then it has worked perfectly. With no problems. Would recommend the Adonit Jot Touch with either the Air or Air 2 without reservations when using GoodNotes or Noteshelf. I have not used Forge. I have only briefly looked at ZoomNotes.

Forge is made by Adonit I believe. So if this were really a problem, I think Adonit would comment. I did not see which model iPad that was either.

I stand by my comments. The iPad with my Adonit Jot Touch with Pixel point and GoodNotes is awesome. I had a certification which required me to take a couple of hours of notes. When I was at my son's baseball game I was able to pull out my iPhone at slow times and review my notes. It was great!

Well I use Bamboo Paper and Loop to play with and draw pictures I took on camera. :apple:
 
still struggling on finding something I like... just cant bring myself to like noteshelf :(
 
What have you tried?

I bought a lot of apps years ago - goodnotes had the best handwriting engine in my opinion.

I'd be very interested to hear your arguments not to like Noteshelf. It would also be easier to help you find alternatives.

This is great advice. Usually if you can clearly define what it lacks, then you also know what you really need.
