Anyone found a good case for the M1A? I'd like it to be pretty minimalistic. Just something to keep the dings and scratches off. Was hoping there'd be some sort of silicon one but no luck so far.

The body skins seem the way to go. I’m going naked this time around, though. I have AC+, so if I do anything too crazy ding wise, I’ll utilize my accidental damage.

I don't have AC+ on this just didn't feel like adding 30% to the cost. I have the 12" and it's got a couple small dings on it from me going naked with it. Wouldn't mind keeping this one in better shape. Better resale when I turn it back in. While in my mind I always tell myself I'm buying to keep for a long time that never ever seems to happen. I always enjoy the new features out there. God forbid they come out with Mac with a much more powerful GPU. This thing will be back on the market in no time.

Still waiting for MBA, but I put a film skin on my 2015 12" Macbook and love it. Had to attach it carefully, but once on, it's great. It protects very well and adds a glossy finish that really enhances it. Hope I can find one for the MBA. Will check out BodyguardZ.

Where did you get the skin from? Do you have a link you can provide? Thanks!

How hard are the skins to install? My biggest problem is keeping my screen smudge-free. I always seem to have some kind of key mark, smudge, etc. on it.

I am using a microfiber towel that goes over the keyboard, but it's not perfect ):

Just installed mine from BodyGuardz. It was actually pretty easy to install! I was worried when I opened it because it has gel that you have to apply to the sticky side of the skin, but that actually made it way easier to line up the edges. Really enjoying it so far

I agree with getting a case to pad the system when you travel. This is the one I am using. It seems to have good padding and I have had good luck with the brand.

IBENZER New 2020 MacBook Air 13 inch Case M1 A2337 A2179 A1932, Hard Shell Case & Keyboard Cover & Screen Film for Apple Mac Air 13 Retina Display with Touch ID (2018-2020), Quezhal Green, AT13QUGN+2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0842ZCJB8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_uNZ5FbB8YWHJ7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

This one sucked. Case was ok but color was way off, couldn’t see apple logo, has vents on the bottom for some reason, and keyboard cover doesn’t line up properly with keys. Sending it back.

In the past I've tried out using clear cases on my macbooks but never liked how they made the macbook feel heavier and the potential for clear cases to cause scratches where they attach. So I much prefer using skins, together with a sleeve for additional protection.

I've had Best Skins Ever skins on my last two macbooks and have had a great experience with them so far. However I have some doubts about ordering from them at the moment (no update for any recent Apple products, I emailed them earlier this year and never got a response).

So went and had a look around for other clear macbook skins. Found Skoko (Amazon), Bodyguardz, and no-brand ones. Have just ordered the Bodyguardz one and will see how it is when it gets here...

Does this case fit the M1A? It says MBA 2020 but I don't know if it's the same design as the M1..

Vents are for heat dissipation.
