I've been using clear app for quite some time. But, I am not sure if it's the most ideal for my use. I need a simple to do task list, combined with list for books that i want to read, movies that i want to watch, costco grocery list etc, that I can list offline + online.

Just curious what you guys use.

There are various alternatives out there, like Wunderlist or Any.DO, for example.

The build in reminders app isn’t the worst choice imho

For my tasks, stock reminders app combined with Agenda+ widget works perfectly.

I like Clear, but I use the stock reminders app because I can tell Siri to add a reminder.

I love Omnifocus and this one, called GETODO. It's universal with a free web based site too. Fairly cheap, great looking, very easy to use, reminder alerts, colors, and it has nested tasks too. I highly recommend it.

Been using Wunderlist over the last couple of months. Seems the most popular to-do list app. The best thing about it is that it syncs across all your devices, including the Mac and they are much focused on developing the app and keeping it up to date with the latest OS developments, unlike some popular apps.

For example, they released the iOS 8 version the day iOS 8 was released and fully supports iOS8's new Widgets on the Notification Centre and the Mac version supports Yosemite's Widget feature as well. Not only that, they were very quick to optimise their app for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Wunderlist has some more advanced features as well should you need it, though usually at an additional charge. It supports multiple/separate lists as you per your requirement. :)

Update... Since the newest 2.0 of The Hit List came out, I have switched to that. It's taken the place of 2 or 3 apps for me. I highly recommend that one.

Of the hundreds available the best is the one you like and will actually use :)

I used OmniFocus for quite a while. Switched to 2Do while waiting for OmniFocus to update to the new phones and didn't switch back once they did. I'm still torn between the two but I think I like 2Do a little better.

One important feature in a to do app for me is the ability to set custom recurring intervals AND have them recur from either the original due date or the date completed. Both do this.

If Wunderlist would do this I would probably switch in an instant. So if you just want something a little more functional that looks nice Wunderlist may be the best bet, it's a great balance between ease of use and functionality.

Well, it's hard to put a finger on it, but this app just clicks with me. It requires 8.1 and takes advantage of some of the features and has an excellent card based interface. Non of the others just did it for me for some reason.

I have been an ardent user of wunderlist for over an year, switched over from Astrid after Yahoo destroyed the company.

Loved the fact that wunderlist was able to sync over multiple platforms. BUT ... I have had several issues .. like the tasks vanishing, not being reminded properly. No way to set default reminders for tasks, notification widget in iphone doesn't auto update etc etc... I had to give it up

I bought fantastical after being suggested by a friend. I must say combined with the default reminder service on iOS, fantastical has been a really good buy. I generally depend on repeating reminders (monthly and yearly)... and I love the fact that fantastical understands the natural language very well.

Like "Todo credit card bill payment every 1st of the month" ...

If anybody here have used Rememberthemilk, they will understand how wonderful this is.. But RTM is a monthly subscription based service, cannot spend on that monthly. But Fantastical is a wonderful app doing the same thing in a much better way.
