Best Under 1K Display to pair with a Mac Mini?

I currently use a 2018 Mac Mini with an LG 27" 4K display. Since I put these two together, there has been an annoying lag before the display lights up. I am going to buy another desktop Mac this Fall. I would prefer an iMac 27 but that doesn't seem to be in the 2022 pipeline. So, a Mac Mini with a 27" display that pairs with it seamlessly is what I hope to find. Any suggestions are appreciated.

How can you be sure that the lag came from the display, not the Mac Mini, or the cable?

I use a 4K Dell monitor, alongside my 27" iMac, and I find that it meets my needs quite effectively. I bought mine in April of 2021 when it was on sale, and there are newer versions of it as well.
