I'd like to go diving and take pictures with my iPhone, so I'm wondering what is the best case out there to do this?

With most cases like the LifeProof Nüüd you can go maximum 2 meters / 6.6 ft under water or stay one hour or so in the water. Isn't there cases that allow to go deeper, like 5-6 meters or even more, and where I can stay hours in the water?

Also these cases I've seen always advertise that it's to protect the phone from rain or snow or dirt, or the phone falling in the water or the mud. If it was raining or snowing outside, I certainly wouldn't put that huge ugly case to carry the phone with me.

What I'm looking for is really a case made for the iPhone that was made for diving. Is there no such thing?

Pleae check out this case (10 meters).

I used one of those cheap $10 universal waterproof pouches to take videos while snorkeling in the Dubai aquarium. Worked well for videos but not pics as the touch screen did not work under water.

I really like that Hit Case Pro. Finally something similar to what I'm looking for! It seems however that it isn't really available here in Europe, or hard to get at least. Probably that's why I never heard of it.

Also I don't find any information on what's the Hit Case Pro and the Hit Case Pro+, what's the difference? I don't see the Pro+ anywhere for sale here.

The Hitcase Pro+ has a new front panel with an easy to use “twist on” lens mount that lets you quickly swap lenses on the fly. It comes with both the 3X SuperWide zoom lens and a Flat Lens for a slimmer lens profile and a standard field of view. Both lenses have anti reflective and hard coatings for color and scratch protection.

Here you can find the European distributors.

Thanks! I'd rather go for the + then. The FloatR and ChestR look interesting too. I wonder if the ChestR is made for going underwater too. It's waterproof, but that doesn't mean it's made for diving.

And yeah I've seen those distributors, the thing is, there's none for my country. I live in Austria but they show me only German distributors. And most of these don't have anything from Hitcase anymore. Only one site has it, but not the +, and another site has it but only for the 4/4s. One site doesn't even exist anymore haha.

Servus,
Sorry to hear that. Surprisingly it is not for the first time that these official data are incorrect.

I think the only way out will be to search for any distributor in the EU who has the Pro + version.
Viel Glück!

Yep, but I don't own a 6/s/+!

Currently I have a 5s and I'll be getting an SE in the coming week I believe. But I guess there's no difference, right? Or are they separate models? I also see some Hitcases "for iPhone 5" but I guess it's all the same thing (expect maybe they're older models, because they came out around the time of i.e. the iPhone 5)

Next time, you can use the volume buttons to snap pictures. When the camera app is open, hitting a volume button acts as a shutter button.

HitCase was demoing their products on Facebook during Shark Week earlier this month. They were using their iPhones to film in the open ocean without any issues. I don't have a need for a case like this, but if I did, this is the brand I would purchase. They appear to make quality stuff.

FWIW, I asked about these cases in a sports store once and when I probed the the sales guy as to what I was getting more than zip-loc bag, he admitted to me that putting the phone in a zip-loc bag and that in another one, etc, was just as much of a seal as the "triple lock water-resistant cases" that he was selling. An no they didnt come with any better guarantee than the zip-loc bag, either...
