Hi all,

I was looking for a used iMac that can be easily upgraded with a new SSD drive and maximum RAM (8GB min) and wanted to ask the experts here for a recommendation. Easy installation would be great as I prefer not to have to remove the front panel.

Oh, I also want to be able to run boot camp and/or Parallels.

Thoughts?

TIA

AFAIK every iMac requires the front panel removed for an SSD upgrade, but is not particularly difficult as long as you're careful. If you're OK with that, then a mid-2011 iMac is your best bet as it's the last iMac that has upgradeable RAM and hard drive. If not, then a later 27" iMac will allow you to upgrade the RAM easily but the hard drive upgrade is even more difficult so you'd have to use an external thunderbolt SSD.
