I know it will depend on intended use, but looking at the specs alone, what is the best value? I'm leaning towards the (2.9GHz, 32GB, 555x, 1TB) for $3299.

How about "no" for an option? I don't find them to be good "values" at all. Would I buy one, assuming I had the money? Yes, but I don't consider any of those a "value." They're premium products from a company that will soak you for them.

Adorama...plus I get rewards points , equivalent to about $40. Oh Yippee but ever cent I get off helps with the pain from Apple shafting me...again, and again, and again.

Ok...I pulled the trigger and went with the Adorama / AppleInsider "deal" but I still feel abused!

I buy a lot of pro photo, video, and audio gear through both Adorama and B and H Photo so they better take care of me! No tax is a big save for me.

Got the AppleCare as well just to be safe.
