There has been some talk of what the best value method of getting the iPhone on O2 is, seeing as they now restrict you to one monthly rate for 9 months (to recoup the cost of the phone they're subsidising of course). I've created a couple of little tables to help people decide - it obviously depends on your usage needs of course. I want the 16Gb version, but I only really need the £35 per month/600 minutes option. I'm actually better off going in with the £45 per month and changing down to £35 after 9 months.... ok, not by much, but every little helps, to coin a phrase! 8 GB 16 GB Hope this helps!
Wirelessly posted (PPC; 240x320; HTC_TyTN/1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.7)) I'm going to do the same a you, but if I find I'm using more minutes (doubtful) then I'll stay on the £45 tariff.
Nice wurk fella. However do we know for sure that you can change after 9 months with the new 3G iphone plans?
In my eyes your suggestion actually makes a bigger difference than the few pence saved, It spreads the cost of the phone out more than paying the £159 up front. I would also like the 16GB phone on a £35 contract so will be doing the same, as long as we can verify changing contract after 9 months!
Thanks for posting that tiguk. I'm going to be starting on the £45pm with a 16GB phone. I'll keep an eye on the minutes I use but I expect I'll probably stay on it.
Thanks for that. Looks useful. Personally I'm going for the £30 a month deal with a £7.50 unlimited text bolt on, as I won't even use the 75 mins a month talk time (I get 600mins atm, but only use 30-40), but I text an awful lot.
