My son cracked the screen on his mini retina and I'd like to try replacing it. Is there one vendor, better than the others, for quality parts and replacement guides?

iFixit.com is the place I usually go for high quality parts and instructions for replacing anything Apple related. I will warn you that replacing the screen will cost a pretty penny and is not the easiest thing to do. The screen is glued into place, making it very very hard to get out.

You can find much cheaper screens on eBay, but those are of noticeably lower quality.

thanks for the links. The digitizer is the glass screen right?

Man, $100....I've found a few places around here who will repair and guarantee for a couple bucks more.

We have another new iPad in the house as of Christmas. Still debating on getting Square Trade for it. I guess, seeing as its an 8 year olds, its probably not a bad idea. One cracked screen repair covers the cost of the plan
