I tried VLC but it seems that I cannot hear any voices in the video files, just the background sounds (no such problems with VLC on the desktop). So I am wondering what's the best alternative. The app does not necessarily need to be free, but should be reliable and play all these video formats that iTunes does not like...

Thats really bazaar that folks have been having this issue. I have yet to be able to replicate the problem, even with horrible avi movie files. It's upsetting that it may get pulled from the app store. I'll also be looking for an alternative if they do.

I know that there are also other people with that problem, but I did not find any solution anywhere... therefore I'm looking for an alternative now...

Thanks, dtblaze. From what I understood from the description, this app is streaming content from my PC to the iPhone, so it only uses the iPhone to display the content, but it actually needs the PC always running to be able to deliver the content. That probably would be OK while at home. When I'm out on the road, wouldn't it be better to have the content saved right on my iPhone?

I think Zumocast also has the option to convert and store your files locally on the iPhone. It's free, give it a try.

Thanks guys! I've tried the "lite" version of yxplayer2 today, and it is able to play the videos including the voices. But I will also take a look at your recommendations and then go for one of them. Thansk again!

Just tried OPlayer with some videos... seems the picture quality is better than yxplayer2, at least for the files that I tried...
