Evening guys.

To cut a long story short , 10 weeks ago I fractured my medial tibial plateau whilst jogging. I’m on road to recovery , crutches have gone & hopefully leg brace will be off full time within a week or so.

I’m weight bearing well & building up strength in my right leg.

My jogging days are over. It’s put me off & just too scared. At my age I just can’t afford the risk again.

Amongst other low impact exercise I can & would like to do , I want to start building my walking up again. Nothing silly at this stage , but a gradual increase to help build strength & of course the additional health benefits.

Could anyone recommend a 3rd party walking app besides the watch outdoor walk setting. Need to to integrate with the Apple Watch health settings as need to record what I’m doing.

I have Apple Watch 3 non cellular, & would like info at my fingertips like distance , heart rate , calories burned etc. Ideally a Watch Face complication too.

Thanks for help guys.

I recently started using workouts++ for my lunchtime walks as well as other exercise routines. I like it and seems it would address what you are looking for.

Best of luck with your recovery

What in particular don't you like about the Workout app walking option? It has a complication, and gives you the stats requested whilst walking on on the iPhone after walking. Do you want a history of your walks on your watch or is there something else missing?

Okay trusting you here i’m buying it now. Hope it meets expectations.

Great, thanks for buying the app. Please let me know how you get on, either here on the forums or at info@workoutdoors.net.

It should work anywhere in the world. It is used in over 70 different countries at last count and definitely works in the UK (because that is where I live!).

I do a lot of walking too, 5-6 miles a day is my goal. I wish I could find a good Apple Watch app that has miles walked as a complication. Pedometer++ seems to be the only one, but it never updates and I have to open the app for it to be updated. Anyone know of any good watch complication apps for walking?

The workout app only seems to be a shortcut to the app and doesn't really provide any data other than if you are in an active workout (which you should know already!).

Just to feed back I used it yesterday in an area with poor mobile connectivity while walking through a forest and it recorded the walk perfectly. Will see how it goes on from here but looking good so far.

That's great to hear. Please let me know if you have any questions about the app or suggestions on how to improve it.

Have you power cycled your watch recently? (The one with complications not updating?) What version of watchOS is it running?

Definitely look at Workoutdoors. Solid app and new beta version I'm testing has ability to customize to your heart's content. Not sure though that the complication you're looking for is present. But the notification customization is killer.

I spoke with the developer..currently the complication is a shortcut and they might one day show mileage of current workout. I’d prefer one that keeps track of my daily walking....
