Best way to be able to edit Google documents?

Is there any good way to be able to fully review and edit Google documents and specifically the Google spreadsheets on an iPad? I have downloaded Google Docs and Google sheets and every time I try to open a larger document with over 100 rows, if I try to reorganize anything in the document, the app crashes and I have to force quit it and none of it was saved.
If I just open the document through Safari, it is totally unstable any time I touch the screen it jumps from far end of the document to the other.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

On your computer, copy the contents of the sheet, paste into a new sheet and see if that new sheet will work properly on the iPad.

I'm trying to do as little work from the computer as possible, however I may have to try that also. Thank you
