I have a MBP and I would like to use it with an external display. There are 2 ways I can connect the MBP to the display, with a mini display to dvi adapter, or with a mini display to hdmi adapter.

Is one a better choice over the other? I would go for the better of the 2, if one is better than the other.

HDMI can carry audio if that matters. It's also much more widespread so you'd be able to connect it to pretty much any modern TV or monitor today and in the future.

If your monitor supports higher resolutions (higher than 1080) then you better connect it with mini DisplayPort - DisplayPort cable. The cable can carry audio too if needed.

I'm partial to the Mini display port to DVI (or buy a monitor that has a mini display port).
