    Hi there!

I was just wondering if I would be able to get some advice on the best way to create a slideshow to be played locally on a mac computer that features two completely different images either side as the slideshow plays.

These images will also need to have bottom name captions.

The idea at the moment, is to create a template in photoshop which includes the name captions, manually changing each person's name and inserting each person's work into the template.

There are 73 people all up, and there are 2 people to a computer screen. So 2 people per template, and each person has 6 images.

Each template would then be saved as image 1-6, then played in slideshow mode on the default mac picture viewer. All up, that's quite a lot of time spent!

..I know if I was creating this for web, I could use some jQuery slideshow plugin, have the bottom strip of text there always, and just call the images from a folder...

I have the adobe creative suite - I was just wondering if there is a quicker, better way to create this? Maybe in flash with xml and exporting as an executable file to play on the computers? :S

I would really appreciate any help! :)

With all those constraints, don't think "slide show", think "presentation". Then use Keynote. Or anything else like it, such as Powerpoint. They'll let you build templates, use a common background elements, etc.
