Preferably something I can mute so that I can leave it running overnight.

My battery life on the iPhone 4S has been really bad (it seems) ... but I want to try a calibration. Presently, my phone is either charging at home or in the car ... so I haven't had a chance to really have it die on me yet. Don't want to wait too long.

I thought of leaving a video running on repeat all night. Would that work or would the phone turn off? Can you repeat a single video, or a podcast, with it on mute?

upgrading an iPhone 4 to iOS 5 will drain the phone in about 2 hours even in standby mode! (from my experience...)

You know what else normally kills my phone really fast? Facetime. If you have someone to facetime with just load it up and let it run. Phone should be dead in about an hour lol.

Hmm, I FaceTimed last night for 2 hours and it drained battery from 50% to like 8%.

Come to think of it, that's actually very impressive.

Another thing you can do is download a free flashlight app. I've got one that turns the flash into a strobe. Makes the phone feel like it's on fire, but it kills the battery quick. Have as many apps running in the background as you can and blast some music with the brightness up, wifi and bluetooth on, location services etc. Your phone will die so fast it won't know what hit it lol.
