Best way to get Edition model ...?

I've been going back and forth on which series 2 model I want to purchase and I think I'm ready to pull the trigger. That said, I'm impatient and I don't want to wait 3-5 weeks if I don't have to.

What's the best way to land the ceramic edition, without over paying on eBay? Are big box stores going to get edition models or just Apple stores?

The Ceramic model, being limited as is, is best through Apple directly. I can't speak if Target or Best Buy will have this model any time soon. I would continue to Check with your local Apple Stores, being their stock changes all the time.

Thanks guys for the replies. I may call the local Apple store and see what they tell me as well in regards to anticipated stock.

The discussion I had yesterday with my local store was that the major cities will get the Editions first and after a few months they will likely show up in the smaller large cities. I too am on 3-5 week shipping wait, but would love it sooner if a local shop would start to carry it.

@brad my Edition has been a couple days in order (42mm) and not changed from 3-4 weeks delivery. Glad you got yours so quickly but I am not optimistic for mine...

Yeah I pre order at 3am est, and got it the Tuesday after launch. It's not an easy one to find, but I am actually kind of glad. Nice to have something a bit more exclusive.

Got mine yesterday at the South Coast Plaza apple store in the OC. Seemed to have been super lucky, as iStocknow shows them being out of stock across the entire country.

Might be a combination of being in Canada plus ordering the 38mm. But I also had the same 3 week+ estimate and it shipped shockingly fast. Fingers crossed yours moves soon!

Mine is stuck at "We currently have the package. The receiver requested clearance by a non-UPS broker." but usually that means it's here and out for delivery. I just have no way to know for sure. Earlier it said it would be delivered today until that message showed up.

Good call - you won't regret it. I switched out the band for the first time today and may like the black sport band better than the cloud band it comes with. If only they made the black sport band with a white ceramic pin!

You have been running the cloud band since you got it? Do you use that with dress clothes as well?
 
I'm actually taking vacation this week, so I haven't had to put on a suit since I picked the watch up on Saturday afternoon. I imagine I will go with the black sport band at work - unless I end up buying the black Milenese or black link bracelet. Those will definitely have to wait though - I'm planning to pick up the AirPods and I can't justify more bands at the moment, as I enjoy being married and want to keep it that way. :D

Thanks guys, I am quite stoked about ordering the Ceramic. I have a pearl nylon , a Milanese and a white sports strap already from my SS Series 0 so I have a variation of straps to try out. Just got to wait out the 3-4 week delivery time now :)

That's pretty snazzy! I think the ceramic watch looks cool and has many cool band options. Midnight blue leather for dress up occasions comes to mind, or even a nice black one. I have a sorta the opposite of you with a black SS with a white Sport band. Some storm trooper action! I felt the black on black was blah, just like you probably felt the same with white on white. Needed some contrast!

Have you noticed the white silicone band weighs more compared to the black? The white is the heaviest of them all & the black is the lightest. I thought it was me that my white one felt a tad thicker?

And sure enough I looked it up and in fact the black silicone only weighs 40g, and the white weighs 51! In the 42mm flavor.
