What Im trying do is download the updates in the Mac App Store with the lid closed. I dont want to do them now but overnight when Im asleep. I actually tried doing it earlier and then when I opened the computer again it said error, the network connection was lost, or something along those lines. Whats the best way to fix this. And yes, I could leave it open while they download, but I don't want to. TYIA

Connect an external mouse or keyboard. Close the lid, then hit a key on the keyboard or click the mouse. This wakes the laptop from sleep even if the lid is closed.

System Preferences -> Energy Saver -> Enable Power Nap while on battery power

Be careful not to enable it for too long, or it'll probably burn your computer into a crispy, delicious, aluminium(?) sandwich. Not edible.

Oh I know lol I'm just going to use it whenever I need to update things and don't want to keep the lid open. Thanks for the tip though.
