Best way to make slideshows?

I need to make 4 slideshows for a wedding that I can start easily from my macbook which will be displayed via projector. What's the best way to do it on a mac? Is panning and zooming considered to be cheesy or is it a pretty standard way to spice up a slideshow? Thanks!

Are you going to be using iPhoto? It makes really great slideshows.

General rule is to use effects sparingly, especially with wedding photos where viewers want to see the people in the pics and not special effects. iPhoto or Aperture should do fine.
