I need to minimize how much my watch screen displays, and how much it makes noise only while at work.

1. Is there a way to make the screen not display anything, and have it only vibrate when a new message or call comes in, and I can check it if I want?

2. What is the easiest way to silence all notifications? Is this what the bell in Control Center is for?

Thanks

In iOS 12 you can set do not disturb in a way that it will send all notifications straight to Notification Center a whole day. The new screen time can also block most app notifications by blocking them in the screen time setting.
These are workarounds though and iOS tend to display something pretty much no matter what. Heck, even recharging the phone will light up the screen briefly anyway. But, these workarounds should be the closest thing you can get to achieve your goal.

Yep, that’s what the bell is for. Also you can turn off the raise to wake so the screen only turns on if you tap it or the crown.

1. You can turn on Theater Mode, on the watch open up the Control Center and select the two masks. The screen will only turn on when you either tap the screen or turn the dial.

2. Bell is indeed to silence the alert sounds. I have always had the alert sounds disabled, prefer to just feel the vibration for the alerts.
