I recently acquired a new to me 2009 13" MBP. I want to mirror all the applications (essentially everything on the computer) from my 15" MBP to the 13". What would be the best way to do this, should I use carbon copy to mirror my computer onto the drive and pop it in the 13" or should I use a time machine backup of my 15" system on a new drive and put it in the 13"? Thanks

Use the migrate assistant in Applications/Utilities... You can do it over wi-fi and ethernet I think, but the fastest way I've found is over Firewire.

Migration assistant will copy everything not transfer/delete it right? I want to have two computers with the exact same setup.

    It doesn't delete anything.

Works like a charm! You will have to re-enter some serials (FCS) but some work without having to do so (CS4). Although I wish I had migrated everything over during my initial startup of my new MBP. Now I have two accounts on my new mbp, my new main user account I set up and my old migrated account. FYI.
