The missus would like to read rather large pdf files. Currently the best that I have come up with on my jail broke itouch (via ziphone) is to convert the pdf's to html (for a more straight forward reading) transfer via iphone pc suite with the itouch and then open with text reader. This is way to much monkey business for her so I'm looking for a simpler approach if possible. I found a batch pdf to html to reduce the converting time. In a perfect world I could email the attachment and then read it with text reader. Is this possible?

Thanks for the help - this newbie needs all the help I can get.

You can read PDFs directly on the iPod touch. But you have to email them to yourself. I wish Apple would make it possible to use the iPod as a USB storage device (even if it meant "allocating drive space" in a setting like the iPod shuffle).

They are one firmware update away from becoming the most popular "e-book reader" and yet nothing is happening.

Thanks for the responses. I find it difficult to read most PDF's in any viewer since as you noted they aren't formated in an ereader type style. By saving them to html and using text reader the formating is much better. Is there a add on that would allow safari to save attachments or lauch a set program for viewing? I'm a newbie for sure so maybe this is already available and I'm just missing the boat.
