Hey everyone,

I just got a new iPhone and was wondering what's the best way to setup iOS 8.2 in terms of battery life and performance. (ie. what options should I turn off to get the best battery and things)

I did some research and know to turn off background app refresh and LTE.

The best way is to just not worry about it and use your phone for a few days. Chances are once you get over the newness of the phone and checking it all the time, you won't have a problem with battery life.

If you do, Go into Settings -> General -> Usage to find out what apps are using the most battery, and change your usage habits around them.

Some apps like Skype are battery pigs if you leave them logged in. They're just poorly implemented. This method works great to find those.

Not sure turning off LTE would be the best thing really, at least not if/when you have fairly good LTE coverage.

Screen brightness may have biggest impact. But, I have chargers in house/work/car and really don't care about it. I figure I spent 849.00 or so on a great phone with brilliant display, I want to enjoy all of it. :)

IMO the best way is to wait a few weeks or more and see if its something you really need.

no point in rushing in and being stuck with something that isn't quite ready.

It does nothing I need. I use Swiftkey keyboard, don't use apple maps, won't be getting a watch.
