Best way to share iCloud with a spouse?

I have two iPads on one iCloud account I have just noticed with both backed up to cloud, I only have 1gb left out of the 5 gb free storage. Is it still better to backup to PC and leave the cloud free for other data.

That's a good question. I can only see two possible issues with it. (this are really more advantages to iCloud backup than disadvantages.

1) Leaving your Mac on overnight. I have a macbook so I always keep it closed when I'm not using it. I'm assuming(/hoping) that your iDevice would wirelessly backup every time you plug it in (as with iCloud backup), but your computer would obviously need to be running. If you have an iMac, or you just always leave your macbook open all night anyways, you should be good to go

2) I'm hoping that iCloud backup will allow me to delete all my iOS apps off my Mac. They are taking up about 25GB of my 100GB Macbook, and they are doing me no good on there. I'm not sure if it would cause any problems deleting them off my macbook when I backup with iCloud, but I'm sure I would have to keep them on my macbook if I backed up in iTunes.

It definitely isnt very intuitive for families where you want to share some things (reminders, calendars, contacts) but you dont want to share others (email, photos).

We ended up with settling for a single ID because sharing calendars and reminders are essential for our family, but this comes at the expense of losing out on using email or photo stream.

Just be aware that going that route won't allow you to use the Find my Friends to keep track of family members.

I believe apple still recommends that you keep a local backup of your apps. There are times apps are pulled and then you won't be able to download them again unless you had them stashed somewhere.

I'm in the same boat. 2 ipads a imac and 2 iphone4's on one apple id. right now my phone is borked due to the ios5 download.
I dont know about you guys but I wouldnt wanna share my acct info with my girlfriend...If things go south its gonna be a huge mess!
My uncle just passed and my aunt can only log in through his id. Apple will NOT transfer any itunes purchases into her acount. I told her to just assume his acct and let hers go. Its a little bit of a pain since his email acct is his name...

Yup. I just noticed that when setting up the wifes iPad and it said "Are you sure you want to use this for Find My Friends instead of ________".

I can live without sharing photos and contacts but Reminders and Calendar seems like the perfect thing for families to share so Im hoping i find a workaround.
