Many of you obviously own a MBP + a desktop at home . But how do you synchronize to have the same files on both computers ?
Supposing you go on x days trip with the MB , send and receive xx email, modified XX files etc... what happen when you go back home and start your desktop ?
and the other way around when you go onto a new trip ?
I never got a clear and easy answer to this problem.
what program is the best to analyze all changes and synchronize ?

Fruux can sync your contacts, bookmarks, and calendars via a "cloud" like MobileMe. But Fruux is free. You can also integrate with a gmail account to get free "cloud" syncing of contacts/calendars via that too. The advantage of gmail cloud is that you can get free over-the-air syncing of your iPod Touch/iPhone as well.

for email, if you're using IMAP based email then due to the design of IMAP servers the email is automatically synced.

For files, I use a program called Synk, there are other alternatives though.
