Also, you don't have to use a private class C address. You could use a class A address (10.x.x.x) or a class B address (172.16.x.x).

No problems, I'll just be nitpicky right back then. :p Yes, that term for DHCP is also valid, but "Dynamic Host Control Protocol" is accepted as well so it's actually both, not just one or the other. As for the Class C address, yes, of course you could use an A or B, I was just citing a C as an example since that's what was referenced earlier in the thread.

Hmmm, never heard is called that but I'll take your word for it. For what it's worth, though, I'll take the definition in RFC 2131 as source. :)

Fair enough. ;) Feel free to Google it or something and I'm sure some instances will pop up - Intel uses it a lot from what I remember... Tomayto tomahto though, right? :cool:
