I plan to buy the iPhone 4S and will take many pictures with it. The only computer I have right now is a family-shared iMac, and I plan to put all the pictures/video I take with the 4S onto it. In the future, when I get my own computer, I will want some things (like iTunes music, pictures, videos, etc.) transferred over. How would I do this?

Again, it's very important that I only transfer the specific things I want, not a whole boatload of stuff that the family has saved on there.

And how would this work for transferring, say, a music video downloaded from the iTunes store? Isn't it directly tied to iTunes or something?

Purchases are connected to the account you purchased them with. If you buy a music video from iTunes, you can re-download it on any computer where your account is authorized.

Oh, ok. Thanks - thought you could only re-download music. I have only one TV show and one music video that I'd want to re-download on the new computer.
