Google Chromium with Extensions wins hands down. I'm using the best browser ever.

Perfect Browser for MBP

Why can't Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome integrate their features together!? Sometimes, depending on certain tasks, i have to decide which browser I'm going to use:

Google Chrome: fastest to navigate around, Search and Address bar together, but can't open .docx files!

Safari: only one i can use to look at PDF files in browser w/o downloading to look in preview

Firefox: scroll all the way up or all the way down of a page by sliding 3 fingers up or down

I can't wait for the integration of all these features to one browser... then i wont have to switch between 3

Firefox PDF plugin allows you to view PDF in the browser. The address bar also acts as a search engine. And to be honest, the speed difference is small. Not sure what your problem is

I dunno, I primarily stick with safari. Only when I have a problem (rarely) with a site do I try firefox. I think for the most part safari is the perfect browser for the MBP

.. can't wait .. :D - then use Firefox:

Search and Address bar together - for example with: Omnibar
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8823

PDF files in browser - for example with: Firefox PDF Plugin for Mac OS X
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7518

and maybe additionally:
Keychain Services Integration
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/13509

and use Firefox 3.6 for the Mac OS X Services - a much faster start-up time - full screen support - faster JavaScript performance and so on

By the way,
and all this naturally together with my themes: http://www.takebacktheweb.org/ ;-)

Hey people, I did a small search on this topic, but came up with no finds.

Just wanted to know about the browser that you use on your mac. Is it fast than safari, what are the pros about it, etc.

Thanks in advance, just keeping my options open in case I ever switch browsers.

safari, duh. who would ask that!

wow, GrApple tangy is exactly like safari! (in look)

There isn't necessarily a best web browser for your Mac, but there is for you.
I personally prefer Safari, you can't beat coverflow history search + top sites imo.

Having used it on Windows 98SE, XP, and 7, Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5, and 10.6, Mandriva, and Ubuntu, I just haven't found a platform I don't like Firefox best on. I also haven't found an OS I like better than 10.6. :apple:

safari is slow and works bad with online movies
explorer just totally sucks
chrome is still in beta mode, not worth it

and the winner is...FIREFOX it is faster than safari, when applying for jobs online safari is not supported, online movies work better and you can customize the browser's theme which is kool if u like to customize like me.

Seems every browser claims to be the fastest, but you can barely get a cigarette paper between the speeds of any modern browser.

Any one will do really.

What web browser is the best?

I've been using Safari the whole time but didn't know if there was something better and/or faster. Thanks.

I've been using Opera since my first internet experience over a decade ago. I recall paying for it as it used to be shareware; probably why it didn't really gain much marketshare.

I still use it a lot; I have it on my Symbian and Windows Mobile devices in the form of Opera Mobile (not mini). If Apple ever lets them sell that on the iPhone/iPad platform, I would switch without skipping a beat.

Now on the Mac, again I use it but have recently in the last 2 years been using Minefield. Opera still runs the sites I can't have crashing because Minefield is buggy. In Windows, I use Opera exclusively.

Therefore if I had to rank the browsers in a Top 3, I'd go for Opera, Minefield/Firefox, Safari (in that order).
