Web cams and Audio

Guys great advise but I'm a little lost on the subject of Audio, ive plugged in a USB DSE Webcam Generic Unit, video wise fine. But the built in Mic does not work.

As far as the webcams stated do they all have built in mic's and do they work with out any drivers.

Buy the way this webcam is a Dick Smith Cheapy, please dont shoot me.

Wife and I have Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000's, they work in iChat but not in iMovie that i have seen yet. I have a Mini DV camera for that anyway. Picture and sound is good as is the control of the back lighting.

Why am I hijacking this thread.

The good looking isight has been discontinued for some reasons. What type of webcam can we use for Macpro that is fully campatible with photobooth and ichat? or is Apple planning to release a new version of isight soon?

The thread had asked what webcam for Mac Pro, same question i'm asking but with a little more information on the Audio side, which was never explained.

Please explain?

I'm not sure how many webcams will suffer this, but my Logitech Quickcam Ultra Vision is very blurry when used with iChat. It is not blurry with Photo Booth or QuickTime. Nor is it blurry when used on an iBook in iChat.

It does appear to be a Mac Pro problem (perhaps an Intel problem).

I tried in 10.4 and a fresh install of Leopard on my Mac Pro.

Since you asked, this is how you were (are?) hijacking the thread:
Guys great advise [sic] but I'm a little lost on the subject of Audio,

The original question had to do with which webcam should replace the iSight–you've launched your own individual question concerning the audio problems of a different camera. If you were truly interested in staying within the thread's parameters, you would have said "don't get this one that I have b/c of a, b, and c". There's nothing wrong with opening a new thread on your issue–the forum will be happy to help you there. But in the meantime, we need to help the OP here.

To the OP: Logitec always makes pretty solid webcams… beware of the cheaper brands in general. I'm sure others will be posting with their personal preferences, etc.
