Hi,

soon I'll probably have to use a PC for work and I'm looking for good Windows-Alternatives for all the Mac apps I use. On the Mac I use frequently:

  • Safari
  • Mail
  • Contacts
  • Calendar
  • Reminders
  • Notes
  • Preview
  • Photos
  • Pages
  • Ulysses (my favorite writing app ever)
  • 1Password
  • Tidal
  • 1Focus
  • iCloud Drive

What are the best Windows alternatives to these Mac apps?

Some of the apps you mentioned have Windows versions; those that don't I've suggested below. Anything marked with * is a built-in app. The others can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store or the Web.

  • Safari = Edge*
  • Mail = Mail*
  • Contacts = People*
  • Calendar = Calendar*
  • Reminders = Microsoft ToDo
  • Notes = OneNote
  • Preview = Acrobat Reader (PDF reader also built in to Edge*)
  • Photos = Photos*
  • Pages = Word (or free WordPad*, LibreOffice Writer)
  • Ulysses (my favorite writing app ever) = Scrivener
  • 1Password = 1Password
  • Tidal = Tidal
  • 1Focus = ColdTurkey
  • iCloud Drive = iCloud for Windows, OneDrive*

Thanks, I will try the suggested app. Saw that iA Writer (as an alternative to Ulysses) is available for Windows too. Scrivener I don't like much.
