Just wanted to see if anyone had any wallpapers that hide the notch, essentially black at the top to disguise it, with a simple image or pattern for the rest of it?

When the Samsung S10 launched, a lot of wallpapers made use of the Camera Cutout with wallpapers such as Wall-E and what not.

Does anyone use anything specific for the XS Max?

Not sure if you can call it hiding. Personally I couldn’t care less.

The built in Wallpapers tend to hide the notch, I am using this one, really like it:

Edit: no idea what’s up with the home screen pic. It looks like the white is displaying where the notch is positioned. It doesn’t!

I just use some amoled style backgrounds and change them up frequently.

This my wallpaper which mostly hides the notch.

I originally used this for the 8+, then when I got the XS Max I kept it because I thought it looked good, hiding the notch is a perk.

I will not say I never see it. But, once into using the iphone or watching movies, I don't notice it.

A non-issue for me----

The fluidity of the gestures on the X far outweigh any notch visibility issues----

If you want the notch hidden, there are plenty of wallpapers online that serve the purpose. AR72014 on Twitter and Instagram has hundreds of high quality wallpapers and many of them do mask the notch. Alternatively, download an app that lets you apply gradients to an image and fade the top of your chosen image to black.

But my personal advice is stop fixating on the notch. Masking it on the home screen won’t mask it when you’re using apps - if it’s there all the time you’ll stop noticing it. Exactly like you don’t notice network logos when watching TV.

Honestly, we don't.

And I have no pride

I didn't say "we" I implied him.

What ever you say.

Sounds like it hurts you!:p

and that iOS 6 "look" is not coming back!

It will come back one day, just not like it was. And I'll be the first person on these forums to throw it in everyone's face and you will thank me and apologize.

It isn’t really noticeable. It’s something you get used to

With a black black ground and iOS 13 dark mode that will hide it for most

it was a bad, desperate design choice. Getting use to it is accepting it. That’s what you can’t do orAppe will never change it.

They had no choice, to get Face ID there was no option

You get used to it as you have to to have the phone and quite frankly for most it doesn’t matter

Would it be better without it? Yes but it’s not a deal breaker not to get it and within a few years once the tech for sensors under the screen is sorted it will go

Apple aren’t keeping it wether people like it or not

Ok. Its a dealer breaker for me. I won't support a poor design.

The beauty is, you don’t have to support it. Other phones don’t have it. You’ll be fine with one of those. I like it because it offers the largest display on an iPhone and I would much rather the notch than chins and foreheads.

Hole punches/teardrop notches are available on android devices but if we are looking for an iOS experience then it’s notch or chin/forehead exclusively. It’s all good & completely your choice :)

2020 should see the release of under display front facers which imo will become the standard & ultimate solution for full & truly all display smartphones. Both xiaomi & oppo have now revealed prototypes which all but appear to be good to go. How (or if) apple choose to implement similar technologies should be interesting and I guess we can rest assured apple will be no rush to implement to future devices until the technology is completely foolproof & failsafe.

Don’t buy it and don’t moan about it then. It’s here to stay for a few more years yet until the tech is ready.

I’ll moan about or as much as I wish. I’m not alone on it. Many feel that way about it just like how many despise the iOS 7 look.
