Well I just got an email from Bestbuy stating "the new street date for this product is 9/28/2016"
That I can expect my watch around this date..

However they did give me a $50.00 gift card

FML

Not going to lie I never expected to get them release day but I'll take $100 free

Well I thought it was weird as well,However our GM and DM had a meeting with our store telling us we would have more than enough units for our preorders and probably enough for walk ins. So customers that have been coming in all week asking for them are now going to be PISSED since thats what we told them.

Scenario:
I walk into the Apple store on Friday at 11am to pickup my pre-ordered iPhone 7 and they have an Apple Watch in stock. If I buy the watch from Apple and cancel the Best Buy order, do they revoke the $50 gift card? They gave me the card number and PIN to redeem. Seems they did that premature?

Thats actually a very good question. I really have no idea. If you do that just use your promo code quick and then cancel it?

Exactly. There's a good chance that Apple stores will actually have some in stock. I don't want to feel like I'm stealing from Best Buy though, even though they did piss me off.

I actually have two $50 cards because I placed orders for two separate watches.

Well they shouldn't of promised it to be here Friday lol I dont look at it as stealing,I see it as an apologize from screwing up,They know half of us are now going to have to go and hunt for a watch that we previously thought was secured.

Ditto on the e-mail. I wonder what caused the delay...caused on Apple end or Best Buy end?

Its a supply issue,Either Apple didnt supply bestbuy with enough units that bestbuy ordered,Or Bestbuy didn't order enough units to fulfill preorders. My guess would be Apple didnt supply enough units to Bestbuy.

I received the same e-mail from Best Buy. Disappointing to say the least.
It's 7:30pm EST (Florida) and I have not received nothing yet, should I have gotten an email by now just like you guys? I ordered it 10:00am on pre-order day

I bet they will revoke the $50 gift card. It does seem premature that they sent you the card number and pin, but I would assume that if you do use it, you will be refunded the amount of the Apple Watch - $50 gift card. This has been the case in other Best Buy promotions.

Best Buy isn't just going to hand out free gift cards for people who don't intend to go through with the purchase.

I'm in Florida and got my "delay" email around 6:45pm. Order is already cancelled. They can keep the $50. This was my first time shopping with Best Buy in years. This issues serves as a good reminder as to why.
