It makes no sense at all to me for them to release it on a certain day instead of releasing when it's done. So if it's done today, they'll hold off and release it next tuesday or wednesday because that's what happened last year. They need to get the beta in testers hands asap to work out bugs. Correct?

The devs will have a deadline and usually work right up to that deadline so it is probably only done just before release.

If that was the case they'd be working until the thing was perfect wouldn't they? Way beyond GM release.

I'm not even that worried when Beta 3 will arrive as i have found Beta 2 pretty good to use without too many annoyances for me, but what i would like to see is a few of my favourite apps getting updates rather than the iOS so they work a little better or work the way they are supposed to **Cough** Facebook **Cough** Whatsapp **Cough** ;)

Why would a developer update their app to work on a Beta and then make that a general release? That would make no sense. they would then have to release an update for every beta release since some tweaks could break their app again.

The developers will have their updates ready for the public release of ios 5 (when they should have them)

I dont care if people put betas on their device just to play with it. but understand it is a beta, that it is not meant for you to use as a daily driver and if you choose to use it that way dont complain or be surprised that your apps dont work.

I understand it is a Beta this is why i use 4.3.3 on my Everyday device but Beta software is also for app developers to test their apps !!! maybe that's why only Apple Developers who pay $99 in the Dev Center are supposed to have access to it to :D

So are you saying people who have apps running on 4.3.3 aren't going to rewrite or test their apps on early betas and leave it to the last minute when the final release comes?

Seems a little strange to me IMHO

I was actually surprised they didn't release a new beta yesterday. I guess we'll go back to the usual Tuesday releases, unless we are looking at three week cycles now.

Of course they are re-writting and testing their apps with the current Betas. But they are not going to, nor should they, release that update to the general public until the final release comes. there is a difference between testing and making your apps work and releasing it to the public. I will test my apps with every beta tweaking along the way, but I will not make that a consumer copy until it is tested with the GM OS.
just before public release.

If you look at when all the Betas were released for 4.3, there was no actual pattern. It only looked like one. It was around every two weeks that they were released. The first one was released on a Tuesday. Then they fell around every two weeks. For all we know, they could release it Today or even tomorrow. Just because Apple has not released a Beta on a certain day before, does not mean they won't. I personally think it will get here on Monday. I was also pretty sure it would of gotten here yesterday but we all got our hopes up and it did not come. So we will see later today and Sunday and Monday. Apple as no real day that falls in their pattern. They have no pattern.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/9A5248d Safari/6533.18.5)

I've been running beta 2 on my daily driver, not a single problem yet(knock on wood). Been very solid, however, I really only use a few apps, and mainly the browser. So all I really need is Skype, words with friends, Nike+GPS, Tom Tom, and a very few select others, so far so good

most likely this beta will have any last of the changes being made. most of the time beta 4 and past are just bug fixes with maybe one or two little things changed.

Apple isn't even accepting submissions for apps based on iOS 5 frameworks yet, so yeah.

coincidence if anything as has been said apple wont accept iOS 5 submissions till very close to release os iOS 5

Developers can still fix there apps so that they work as long as they don't use any iOS 5 specific features, they just can't label them as being for iOS 5. They may also break again before the GM.
