I am a little surprised Apple didn't completely redesign the antenna for the Verizon iPhone 4. I bet they will won't make that mistake with the iPhone 5!

Betcha Apple will only make minor changes to the antenna.

See, anyone can make frivolous speculations.

I'd be surprised if they didn't make it a whole new design. It'd be easy way to make everyone buy the new model without the "flaw." ;)

you can't just design a phone in less than a year. to release a phone in late june means that it has to be submitted to the FCC a few months prior and that means you have to test it yourself for a few months. the iphone 5 has been in development since 2008 or 2009.

apple and others have roadmaps going out years where they guess as to which features to include, etc. it's not like you just make a new phone in a month because of problems with the old one or because someone else released something cool

What if they used a non-conductive laminate material to cover the antenna? No need for a redesign assuming that the "iP5" is really the iP4S.

Ha ha...how much are you betting?

And, because I know how these things go, I'm sure you'll eventually end up arguing what you meant by "completely."

I expect very minor changes. We won't count those as "completely redesigned" when the time comes. Put shortly, I expect you to lose this bet.

I like the stainless band but wish they would move the antenna inside the phone so everyone would shut up about it!

Apple will eliminate the antenna completely. How that's for thinking differently....:D

I think they will come out with the NEXT GEN antenna design along the lines of the Retina Display. They could call it the Hyper Fractal Antenna LOL

Put in the way that I really think they should re-design the aerial. At the end of the day the iPhone is a telecommunicational device. The aerial is a pivotal part of that role.
