Better Camera in the future?

Well considering this phone was rumored to have 12 MP up until like 4 weeks of launch, I can almost guarantee that the iPhone 6 will have 12 or 13 MP. Because those leaks weren't just coming from nothing....they're definitely working on 12-13 MP cameras

Thank you!

People are so stupid on this forum sometimes :D. So many iSheep around that simple logic is lost half of the time haha

I think I'll take Ken Rockwells expert advise over your so called logic.

I have a Galaxy S4 and it doesn't produce better quality photos with its larger 13mp sensor. Although, i do like the different modes but that has nothing to do with MP count.

The samsung galaxy s4 takes pictures with much greater detail than the 5S in almost every category except low-light. Read the 4-7 comparison reviews people have done. I was also shocked but it does. I tested it out with 2 of my friends S4's to confirm

Why should I have to read other peoples comparisons when I already have first hand experience with my own? See, that's the thing. Consumers form opinions based on others. I don't. I also don't do comparisons by looking at the photos on the screens on the device it was captured with because one device may have sharper image output than the other. I do my comparisons on a computer screen.

Not sure if you're responding to what I said or not. But please note that I didn't say pixels don't matter. I said they no longer matter in cell phones.

No, I was talking about the person who said "Megapixels are nothing but a marketing scheme" and then talked about non-cell-phone cameras so it's clear he didn't mean "in cell phones" with his comment.

All online comparisons have the pictures...online. They are all seen equally through your computer's screen, unless your computer's display is also inaccurate. For the pictures I took, I used my friends phone, then sent an email of the 5 pictures I took to myself. And did the same with the ones I took with my phone.

I just now read that you said you do yours on a computer screen. Well then we are in agreement, except for the results. You may want to re-look at your shots

I had a Nikon D40 as my first SLR camera. pretty awesome photos for a 6.1MP camera. don't need anything above 8MP in a cell phone.

you want a 41MP camera phone?

Here's an example of the comparison.

Keep in mind, this is the iPhone 5 vs GS4 camera comparison. The iPhone 5s is better than the iPhone 5 with the same MP count.

The comments show that even the hardcore Android fans admit the iPhone 5 photos are better than the GS4.

Here's a link from the best camera 'review' site on the web....DXOmark (non biased and objective reviews and testing).... And showing the 5s just edging out the S4 and only bettered by the 808 (by a single point). Tied with the Xperia Z1(Sony makes Apple's sensors)

http://www.dxomark.com/Mobiles/Appl...o-firm-pushes-the-envelope-with-image-quality

And here, a test in competition with the 1020 just released

http://www.tuaw.com/2013/10/28/laptopmag-com-photo-shootout-finds-iphone-5s-camera-beats-vaunte/

8/10 tests, the 5s bests the 1020

YOU may want to check YOUR display. You've been well educated on the megapixel myth. Optical stabilization would be cool (but add bulk). Manual control would be cool...but add to the usability for the average Joe or Jane...and there are plenty of excellent camera apps with functionality that doesn't exist with the stock cam. More mpxls on this size sensor simply adds noise to the shot. Not detail...unless you're in the perfect ISO the camera was made to shoot at (daylight and well lit). The pixel 'size' and 'depth' (they're like buckets that collect light), the aperture size...lower the number, the more 'open' or more light that will hit the sensor...as well as the sensor size itself. Those are the important factors not just in the iPhone or Android or Window's phones....but small point and shoots as well. More pixels mean smaller buckets, less light on the sensor and extra 'noise' in the shot.

The 5s is an incredible camera. That said, regardless of the camera you're shooting, the skills of the shooter far out weigh the abilities of ANY camera you're shooting. Perhaps that's what you're noticing with the S4 comparisons. Whoever is shooting the S4 has better photographic skills than the iPhone shooter. Simple.

J

PS...if you read the two paragraphs (it's short) on DXOmark, you'll also notice the 5s is now the 'leader' when it comes to shooting motion (video) as well....with a score of 72. Apple did a helluva job with this phone.
